Our article in the Chinese journal of sociology on: &#8220;The transition to adulthood in China, Germany and the US: Prevalence and timing in private and professional life&#8221; can be found here: https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/2057150X19838728<\/li>\n<li>Nicole Hiekel and I published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.demographic-research.org\/volumes\/vol39\/30\/default.htm\">new research<\/a> on serial cohabitation in Germany. In contrast to findings for the USA, we show that in the German context higher educated individuals are more likely to experience serial cohabitation. Furthermore, having experienced several unmarried cohabitations does not entail a lower likelihood of experiencing a stable partnership at some point in time.<\/li>\n<li>I was recently nominated as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romanherzoginstitut.de\/unsere-experten\/detail\/dr-barbara-elisabeth-fulda.html\">expert for the Roman Herzog Institut e.V.<\/a>, an institute focusing on research on societal development and change in social market economies.<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/jomf.12458\">collaborative article<\/a> with Philipp M. Lersch in the <em>Journal of Marriage and Family<\/em> is out now! We investigate if living in different forms of partnerships, i.e. cohabitation, marriage, affect capital accumulation.<\/li>\n<li>My article on &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldinsight.com\/doi\/full\/10.1108\/S1530-353520170000011007\">The Transition to Adulthood in Individualistic and Collectivistic Cultures: Prevalence and Timing of Premarital Cohabitation and First Marriage in Germany and China<\/a>&#8221; in\u00a0<i>Contemporary Perspectives in Family Research<\/i> is now published.<\/li>\n<li>Recently my dissertation was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialnet.de\/rezensionen\/21885.php\">reviewed positively<\/a> by socialnet (in German).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.springer.com\/us\/book\/9783658178567#aboutAuthors\">My paper<\/a> on patterns of cohabitation and first marriage in Europe has just been published!<\/li>\n<li>I have been visiting researcher at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.familiesincontext.eu\/events\/\">Faculty of Social Sciences at the Erasmus University Rotterdam<\/a>\u00a0from February until April 2017 and have been\u00a0collaborating with Professor Pearl Dykstra&#8217;s research group.<\/li>\n<li>I have just been nominated as\u00a0a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifecoursecentre.org.au\/lcc-fellows\">Life Course Center Fellow<\/a> at the Life Course Centre at the University of Queensland\/Australia.<\/li>\n<li>Does the pluralization of partnership statuses change\u00a0educational opportunities of children? <a href=\"http:\/\/rdcu.be\/lRMg\">My book review<\/a> discussing current research on this topic is out (in German).<\/li>\n<li>Recently,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emma.de\/artikel\/mehr-kinder-so-wird-das-nix-333579\">my interview<\/a> with the German magazine &#8220;EMMA&#8221; was published. I am explaining how the effect of social policy measures in Germany is moderated by regional social norms. A must read for social policy makers!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.demographic-research.org\/volumes\/vol35\/37\/default.htm\">My\u00a0article <\/a>covering a sequence analysis of recent birth cohorts in Germany was accepted by &#8220;Demographic Research&#8221;. I am examining how the diversity in longitudinal partnership\u00a0trajectories between ages 15 and 35\u00a0is related to\u00a0individual characteristics\u00a0and regional living conditions.<\/li>\n<li>At the third ISA Forum of Sociology \u00a0in Vienna, I <a href=\"http:\/\/wp12414908.server-he.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pre-MaritalCohabitationCND.pptx\">presented<\/a>\u00a0my findings on rural-urban migration in China and Germany and its effect on the likelihood of entering a premarital cohabitation.<\/li>\n<li>I just received the dissertation prize of the Roman Herzog Institute e.V., based in Munich. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.romanherzoginstitut.de\/forschungspreis\/preistraeger-2016\/\">Here <\/a>you can see videos and read texts covering my research (in German).<\/li>\n<li>My <a href=\"http:\/\/www.campus.de\/buecher-campus-verlag\/wissenschaft\/politikwissenschaft\/immer_weniger_kinder-10269.html\">new book<\/a> was just released! It covers regional differences in fertility rates and how they relate to regional cultural differences in Germany.
